Sequenced Light Patterns
|
DESCRIPTION
This page has examples for setting sequenced light patterns (programming Menu 5)
Prog4 is needed with a computer to change these settings in DT receivers.
This page applies only to receivers with enough menory for the feature (Rx65b/Rx47)
EXAMPLE 1
7 pads, 2 patterns, Ch4, Momentary switch action
Ch4 Low Pattern 1: Left/Right pattern 3 speeds
Ch4 High Pattern 2: Knight Rider 2 styles
Excel dt-seq1.xlsx |
|
Send dt-seq1a.txt to set 'Control' settings and initialise all on/off times Send dt-seq1b.txt to set 'Pattern 1' on/off times Send dt-seq1c.txt to set 'Pattern 2' on/off times |
TECHNIQUE
First create your pattern in software like Excel. This allows you to visualise it and determine the start/stop (on/off) time periods. The receiver will make it repeat automatically.
Time periods are 22ms. There are a maximum of 255 time periods before the pattern repeats. You do not need to use all 255. If you have 255 columns in Excel then each time period represents 22ms. If you have 51 columns (255/5) each column repesents 5x 22ms = 0.11s.
Once you have your pattern and know when each output must switch on/off, create your version of the .txt programming files. It is easiest to put 'Pattern 1' and 'Pattern 2' into separate files. There is also a limit to how large the .txt file can be (about 2kb).
A controlling channel is chosen to activate the pattern.
The 'momentary' switch action means the pattern displays while the channel is deflected away from center.
The 'latching' switch action means the pattern toggles on or off each time the controlling channel is deflected.
PROGRAMMING OPTIONS
Menu 5 Sequenced flash patterns (from v611-2) |
|
Patterns are created by switching pads on/off: 1-128 elements create each pattern (on/off pairs) 1-2 patterns can be defined 1-16 outputs can be used 1-255 time periods Auto-repeating |

Control settings |
Set these before ON/OFF times |
|||
5 | 1 |
1 = Control-1 |
1-18 = Channel |
Set controlling Channel (eg: 5,1,1,4 = Ch4) Flashes can also be triggered with Menu 100+ |

5 | 1 |
2 = Control-2 |
Number of Patterns (and switch action) 1 pattern: 1 = Ch low on 2 = Ch high on 3 = Ch low toggle 4 = Ch high toggle 2 patterns: 5 = Momentary 6 = Latching (Ch low=Pattern 1) (Ch high=Pattern 2) |
Initialise On/Off times to 0 1 = No (do not change) 1 pattern: 2 = Yes (128 Elements) (yes = delete on/off times) 2 patterns: 2 = Yes (Pattern1+2) (128 Elements) 3 = Yes (Pattern 1) (64 Elements) 4 = Yes (Pattern 2) (64 Elements) |
Number of pads & patterns set Elements per pad 'Element' = pair of on/off events that create patterns '128' is shared between Elements, Pads and Patterns 128/Pads/Patterns = Elements per pad, per pattern Element on/off times must be 0 if not needed Set all to 0 then set the ones you want to use (using ON and OFF time options below) (eg: 5,1,1,4 = Ch4) (eg: 5,1,2,5,3 = 2 Patterns, Momentary, Pattern1 0) (128/2/7 = 9 elements per pad) (eg: 5,1,1,4,3 = Ch4, 3 Pads) (eg: 5,1,2,6,2 = 2 Patterns, Latching, all 0) (128/2/3 = 21 elements per pad) |

1-16 = P1-P16 |
3 = Enable pad |
|
|
Enable pads 2 patterns can use same or different pads (eg: 5,5,3 = P5 enabled) (eg: 5,9,3 = P9 enabled)... |
|
ON/OFF TIMES |
Set Element/Pad/Pattern mix before ON/OFF times |
|||
5 |
1-16 = P1-P16 |
4 = Pattern 1 ON time 5 = Pattern 1 OFF time 6 = Pattern 2 ON time 7 = Pattern 2 OFF time |
1-128 Element |
ON/OFF time: 1-255 (*22ms) 0 = No action |
Defines when each output is made ON/OFF Each element has start and end time Unused elements must be '0' to ignore them The highest ON or OFF value ends the sequence Sequence starts at 1 and ends at 255 or earlier Max duration of a sequence is 5.6s (255*22ms) |
