Tx24 Transmitter Kit

DESCRIPTION:
The Kit includes the core components to make a Tx24 transmitter.
Tx24 is a compact wireless transmitter intended to control models.
It has controls for Speed, Direction, Steering, Inertia, Lights, Valves, Coupling and model selection (depending on how used).

ASSEMBLY EXAMPLE (click to enlarge):

NOTES:
1. The circuit diagram shows the required connections. The photos are an example of how it can be done.
2. It is easiest to press the black plastic pushbutton into a 7mm hole using a knob and nut as spacer.
3. The 'Tx2' radio module is powered with 9v. Tx2 has an on-board regulator which provides a 3.1v reference voltage to the other components.
4. The 2 longer wires in the middle of the on/off switch are 'Led2'. The shorter of those is marked '-' and goes to negative.
5. The on/off switch has an anti-rotation ridge that makes its diameter larger at that point. File a notch in the box to avoid crushing the switch.
6. The pots have a protrusion to prevent body rotation. These are not needed and can be cut off with side-cutters or hacksaw.
7. If the Inertia pot is not installed, Pin6 must be grounded to prevent random motor behavior.
8. The Tx2 module can be protected with with the heatshrink covering provided.

PIN 1 and PIN 2 CALIBRATION:
Tx24 Throttle is intended to be used with a pot that has a 'click' at the center position. When Throttle is used 'center off' it needs to be calibrated so that it centers accurately to make the 'click' match the 'off' position in the receiver. Tx24 uses Ch2 for a 12-way Selecta switch. Pin7 can also have a 12-way switch. These three channels can be calibrated so they generate the same values on all units. Calibration is done using the Bind button while Tx24 is on. Calibration has to be started within 1 minute of switching the transmitter on. Calibration normally only needs to be done once.

1. Center the Motor pot.
2. On Tx24 put the 12-way Selecta switch in the 6 o'clock position (assuming 1 o'clock is fully CCW).
3. Do the same for Pin7 if it has a 12-way switch.

4. Switch the Tx on. Within 60s, press and hold the Bind button.
5. After ~20s the Led will go out for 2s and come on for 3s. Release in this time to only calibrate Ch1.
6. After ~25s the Led will go out for 2s and come on for 3s. Release in this time to only calibrate Ch1+2.

7. After ~30s the led will go off and stay off until you release the Bind button. This calibrates Ch1+2+7 - not normally needed.

NOTE:
Calibration can only be performed if the Bind button is pressed within 60 seconds of switching Tx24 on.
If the Bind button is pressed for >20s after 60s the function that the Inertia pot is used for is changed (see Tx24 'Alternative Functions').
